Quality Engineer - Brookville, Ohio

Flow Dry Technology, the world leader in moisture control, desiccants, and automotive gaskets for product protection, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer at the Brookville, OH location. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of the quality system to ensure the continuous production of parts consistent with all customer specifications in support of sales growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5-S, lean objectives, etc.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness and conduct such training as needed.
  • Maintain a ‘floor presence’ in the production area.
  • Interface with Engineering and Sales to ensure transfer to Production, of new products, in accordance with customer specific requirements.
  • Assist Quality Manager in support of AQP (Advanced Quality Planning) process.
  • Support other Quality personnel to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions in order to respond to both internal and external complaints and/or rejections.
  • Ensure timely containment and resolution of both supplier and customer rejections.
  • Create and monitor company quality documentation, such as procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Assist Quality Manager in maintaining the document control system.
  • Participate in planning and organizing receiving inspection and outgoing quality activities.
  • Testing and/or preparation of various QA and SPC (Statistical Process Control) reports, such as Capability Studies, Internal PPM, Control Charts, etc.
  • Oversee the validation of new or modified equipment and/or processes.
  • Support assigned product lines. Includes PPAP submissions as required.
  • Create and maintain Control Plan, Process FMEA and Process Flow diagrams and documents as required.
  • Conduct supplier, internal and/or layered audits as required.
  • Monitor and maintain MRP system production routers and bill-of-materials as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years of experience working in a quality related field. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Products. Experience with MRP systems (preferably SAP) is preferred. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, especially those using G, D & T (Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerances). Working knowledge of the ISO/TS16949 and IATF quality standard is required. Ability to operate and program a non-contact vision system (with touch probe) is desired. Plastic injection molding experience a plus.

Production Supervisor - Brookville, Ohio

The successful candidate will lead the production and manufacturing effort through the utilization of existing resources, interpersonal motivation, and team building while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement of the company’s manufacturing ability to exceed customer delivery, quality, and cost requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage hourly work force and support hiring programs to minimize overall labor cost, preserve employee safety, comply with company procedures and employee handbook, facilitate employee training, and promote employee satisfaction.
  • Utilize consistent communication with employees, form team building techniques, and make recommendations for improvement of compensation and employee benefits structure to management.
  • Support the preservation of the long term value of the company’s assets including: equipment, buildings, and grounds through an effective preventative maintenance program striving for technological advantage and make recommendations to Production Manager on future capital expenditures.
  • Continuously improve the process and cost reduction of manufacturing significant jobs through the review of efficiencies, manpower, effective supervision, and root cause analysis.
  • Minimize material costs by utilizing effective methods to control usage, waste, and scrap.
  • Preserve the integrity of the company’s QMS (Quality Management System) through coordination with the QA department, open support of quality policy and procedure, and participation in formulation and improvement of existing quality tools including SPC, QOS and audit techniques.

Qualifications:
High School diploma and/or vocational training in manufacturing plus 5 years’ experience supervising in a manufacturing environment are required. A technical aptitude with job setter and/or machine maintenance experience is a must. Supplemental supervisor training is preferred.

Manufacturing Engineer - Brookville, Ohio

The ideal candidate for this position will develop new and improve existing production processes in addition to designing tooling, fixtures, gauges, automated equipment and layout for production departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the production team in improving current production methods, P.M., and tooling.
  • Recommend both formal improvements and informal instructions using appropriate FMEA techniques.
  • Research, simulate, and reduce all major recurring unfavorable cost variances, utilizing loss job reports, OEE data and 8D problem solving methods.
  • Manage projects involving new equipment, process improvements and tooling.
  • Research and utilize new technology to improve safety, tooling, equipment, and methods used in the manufacturing process.
  • Meet minimum quality requirements of existing QS, ISO, TS, and IATF policy and procedures for Advance Quality Planning, DFM, DOE, design and release to manufacturing.
  • Support marketing efforts to guide the company towards product opportunities that utilize company strengths and correct weaknesses.
  • Utilize and improve C.A.D. in the development of new tooling, equipment, and processes.
  • Implement and maintain Autodesk Vault document control software.
  • Complete AQP documentation for new and changed processes.
  • Support and/or perform production scheduling.

Qualifications:
Engineering degree and 5 years of experience or an equivalent 20 years of experience, working as an Engineer. Experience with P.C. (Mechanical design in Autodesk Inventor.) Knowledge of quality procedures and Toyota Lean Manufacturing processes. Manufacturing and automotive experience is a must. Process engineering experience is preferred. Injection plastic molding experience is preferred.

Customer Service Manager - Brookville, Ohio

The ideal candidate for this position can prioritize mission critical tasks and oversee all aspects of the Customer Service Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement customer service policies and procedures
  • Define and communicate customer service standards
  • Oversee the achievement and maintenance of agreed customer service levels and standards
  • Direct the daily operations of the customer service team, support CS recruitment when necessary, and evaluate performance / training requirements.
  • Plan, prioritize and delegate work tasks to ensure proper functioning of the department
  • Ensure the necessary resources and tools are available for quality customer service delivery
  • Work in conjunction with Engineering on new business opportunities that may advance to the product development stage.
  • Partner with engineering on customer requests
  • Review / process customer complaints, document complaint resolution, coordinate returns, and review requests for credit with Quality Assurance.
  • Handle complex and escalated customer service issues
  • Monitor accuracy of reporting and data base information
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve quality of service, productivity and profitability
  • Liaise with leadership team to support and implement growth strategies
  • Coordinate and manage customer service projects and initiatives within established budget
  • Recognize and recommend sales opportunities
  • Coordinate and participate in customer visits and trade shows
  • Promote company capabilities and develop customer relationships.
  • Coordinate order activity with other functional departments of the company.
  • Assist sales and customers to solve problems related to orders, service, and new business. Evaluate direct materials, labor cost variances, quality, and delivery issues.
  • Promote an environment of open communication between functional groups to ensure the effective utilization of talents, resources and product deliverables.
  • Follow QS9000/TS 16949 and IATF company procedures and work instructions related to Customer Service, as appropriate.
  • Review / process customer purchase orders / sales orders according to procedural guidelines.
    • Acknowledge purchase orders, including any exceptions required
    • Interact with purchasing, sales, and production to schedule work orders
    • Utilize and maintain EDI for order receipt, and/or ASN’s, as required by the customer
  • Assist Sales in preparation of quotations.
    • Process verbal and written requests for Class 1 and Class 2 quotes
    • Maintain status of open quotes
    • Communicate price and deliver quotations
    • Answer product and price questions
    • Review and approve quotation for Class 1 quotes internationally
  • Communicate with the customer concerning status of open orders, price, shipping, and payment terms
  • Maintain customer files and contact information, securing complete and current information on each customer.
  • Compose written correspondence to customers as required.
  • Represent sales in Advanced Quality Planning meetings.
  • Preform any other duties as may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree and/or 10 years of equivalent Manufacturing Customer Service experience in an automotive environment.
  • Four years of Supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal is required.
  • SAP experience preferred.
