Material Planner-Scheduler - Brookville, Ohio

Flow Dry Technology, the world leader in moisture control, desiccants, and automotive gaskets for product protection, is seeking a talented Material Planner / Scheduler at the Brookville, OH location. The ideal candidate for this position will optimize material flow and capacity utilization to meet and/or exceed business and customer requirements in the areas of productivity, quality, cost, delivery, and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Order material based on MRP.
  • Maintain monthly forecast in MRP system and compare to actual sales.
  • Order MRO and other supplies per approved requisitions and/or min/max levels.
  • Develop and maintain master schedule and procurement plan based on forecast and customer demand.
  • Assess impact to materials availability and production schedule from customer sales opportunities that may be affecting demand for product over and above the plan.
  • Further develop existing forecast and supply programs to improve inventory turns and cash flow.
  • Develop and update production schedules and material requirements.
  • Review material shortages, stock outages, and safety stock levels while working with vendors and manufacturing to meet customer requirements. Make changes as needed.
  • Manage engineering change request ensuring materials comply with company guidelines and policies.
  • Oversee and ensure proper production control planning and scheduling programs including Kanban to meet customer requirements and balance the level of manpower and machine requirements. Make certain that deviations to the production schedule or Kanban are investigated and properly followed up.
  • Monitor inventory levels and inventory control parameters (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) to meet the needs of changing business conditions. Work cooperatively to implement innovative inventory efficiency programs.
  • Lead performance of monthly / year-end physical inventory audits. Conduct cycle counts as required.
  • Support Global Supply Team with planning and re-positioning of global materials to support increase or decrease in forecasts.
  • Maintain item master in ERP system.
  • Track orders with suppliers to ensure on time delivery
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements within the supply chain to enable overall business process improvement.
  • Maintain the approved supplier list
  • Support Global Procurement Teams in maintaining supplier performance.
  • Communicate with suppliers concerning SCAR’s and document as necessary.
  • Monitor / promote environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping within area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • 2-year Associate degree in business or related discipline and/or 5 years’ experience in materials planning.
  • Ability to manage complete ownership of materials scheduling for entire facility
  • System driven individual capable of educating teams regarding data analysis
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive preferred.
  • Strong computer, analytical, problem solving, and communications skills.
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing training is desirable
  • APICS certification a plus
  • SAP experience preferred.

Quality Engineer - Brookville, Ohio

Flow Dry Technology, the world leader in moisture control, desiccants, and automotive gaskets for product protection, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer at the Brookville, OH location. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of the quality system to ensure the continuous production of parts consistent with all customer specifications in support of sales growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5-S, lean objectives, etc.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness and conduct such training as needed.
  • Maintain a ‘floor presence’ in the production area.
  • Interface with Engineering and Sales to ensure transfer to Production, of new products, in accordance with customer specific requirements.
  • Assist Quality Manager in support of AQP (Advanced Quality Planning) process.
  • Support other Quality personnel to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions in order to respond to both internal and external complaints and/or rejections.
  • Ensure timely containment and resolution of both supplier and customer rejections.
  • Create and monitor company quality documentation, such as procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Assist Quality Manager in maintaining the document control system.
  • Participate in planning and organizing receiving inspection and outgoing quality activities.
  • Testing and/or preparation of various QA and SPC (Statistical Process Control) reports, such as Capability Studies, Internal PPM, Control Charts, etc.
  • Oversee the validation of new or modified equipment and/or processes.
  • Support assigned product lines. Includes PPAP submissions as required.
  • Create and maintain Control Plan, Process FMEA and Process Flow diagrams and documents as required.
  • Conduct supplier, internal and/or layered audits as required.
  • Monitor and maintain MRP system production routers and bill-of-materials as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years of experience working in a quality related field. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Products. Experience with MRP systems (preferably SAP) is preferred. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, especially those using G, D & T (Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerances). Working knowledge of the ISO/TS16949 and IATF quality standard is required. Ability to operate and program a non-contact vision system (with touch probe) is desired. Plastic injection molding experience a plus.

Manufacturing Engineer - Brookville, Ohio

We are a growing company with a team of highly dedicated employees who give their all to help our company flourish. The ideal candidate for this position will develop new and improve existing production processes in addition to designing tooling, fixtures, gauges, automated equipment and layout for production departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the production team in improving current production methods, P.M., and tooling.
  • Recommend both formal improvements and informal instructions using appropriate FMEA techniques.
  • Research, simulate, and reduce all major recurring unfavorable cost variances, utilizing loss job reports, OEE data and 8D problem solving methods.
  • Manage projects involving new equipment, process improvements and tooling.
  • Research and utilize new technology to improve safety, tooling, equipment, and methods used in the manufacturing process.
  • Meet minimum quality requirements of existing QS, ISO, TS, and IATF policy and procedures for Advance Quality Planning, DFM, DOE, design and release to manufacturing.
  • Support marketing efforts to guide the company towards product opportunities that utilize company strengths and correct weaknesses.
  • Utilize and improve C.A.D. in the development of new tooling, equipment, and processes.
  • Implement and maintain Autodesk Vault document control software.
  • Complete AQP documentation for new and changed processes.
  • Support and/or perform production scheduling.

Qualifications:
Engineering degree and 5 years of experience or an equivalent 20 years of experience, working as an Engineer. Experience with P.C. (Mechanical design in Autodesk Inventor.) Knowledge of quality procedures and Toyota Lean Manufacturing processes. Manufacturing and automotive experience is a must. Process engineering experience is preferred. Injection plastic molding experience is preferred.
